“If you find a path with no obstacles, it probably doesn’t lead anywhere.”

Life is full of ups and downs. We often get faced by failures and it is completely normal to become preoccupied by the idea that you cannot achieve anything in your life. But hold on, there is a better way to deal with failures and that is, yes you guessed it right, growth mindset.

You might be wondering that what growth mindset is? It is just a state of mind that help you do wonders. In a growth mindset, people believe that their most basic abilities can be developed, and improved upon, which creates a love of learning and a resilience. The following picture clearly describes what growth mindset is and how it is different from fixed mindset.

You cannot gain anything at once. Of course you have to take certain steps or follow certain rules. Similarly, to develop a growth mindset, there are number of steps that you can take out of which some are mentioned below:

  1. Self-Talk
  2. Get out of your comfort zone
  3. Create new habits
  4. Ask people for help
  5. Fake it till you make it.

My personal favorite way is to get out of your comfort zone. Stepping out of your comfort zone is REALLY difficult but not impossible. You know when you try to do new things, even if fail to do so, there is always something that you learn out of certain experience. If you constantly do challenging things and do things that you don’t do often, chances are that you might actually love the thing that you’ve been hating to do.

For example, If you have a goal to develop social skills but you’re too afraid to talk to people, the maybe you could have a goal of talking to one new person a week, then change it to a day once you get confident. You would actually learn that having social skills benefits you not only professionally but personally too.

So what are you waiting for? The world is a great place to live if you have a growth mindset. You can make mistakes and learn and grow from them. Having a growth mindset helps you achieve things magically. Once you come out of your comfort zone and become confident with it, trust me you can live a wonderful life.
